PREMO faces up to automotive sector crisis with a new I+D+i plan for the sector in 2009 and 2010. New automotive sector technologies will be boosted by 20 engineers and different collaborations with universities and technical centers.
The development plan is valued at three millions of euros and its main points are two growth technologies like the passive entry systems and power components for hybrid vehicle technology.
The technical plan tries to place PREMO as a global model in design and manufacture of inductive components for hybrid vehicles. It’s forecasted this technology high growth to the next years, because electrical motors efficiency and CO2 emission reductions are been popular hybrid vehicles in Japan, United State and, now, in Europe.
The new plan places to Malaga plant as a model in the sector regarding to new technologies establishment and step systems. This center has already regulation UNE EN ISO 9001:2000 (since 1997), ISO TS 16949:2002, only for automotive sector (early in 2008), UNE EN ISO 14001:04 (since 2006) about environmental career and it’s unresolved the regulation UNE 166002:06 for the I+D+i plan step.
PREMO manufactures in that plant more than 50 millions of components in a year for the automotive market for the tire pressure monitoring system, anti-theft devices and passive entry systems.
PREMO has more of 45 years of experience. It’s the main manufacturer inductives by invoicing in Spain, one of the three most important Spanish exporters of electrical components and global leader in RFID low frequency antennas. The company is in the most important NAFTA, Europe, Asian and Pacific area markets, with China, Japan and Korea in the first places; because they export 70% of the whole market. Premo employs more than 500 workers all over the world, 40 of them are engineers do I+D+i.
