The PTA’s Technological Transfer Area and International Relations has organized a conference under the title "Investments opportunities in North Morocco". Advantages for PTA companies of settling up facilities in Tangier free zone will be the main subject of the conference.
D. Felipe Romera, PTA General Manager, has inaugurated the conference. Then, D. Omar Chaib, the Tangier free zone director, has explained: “The Tangier Exportation Free Zone benefits from a tax-sheltered plan served by a large port, adjacent to the International Airport of Tangier, having at its disposal a highly qualified yet cheap labour. As they inform on their web page: “The Tangier Exportation Free Zone aims to offer investors a unique opportunity to invest in a protected free trade environment.”
D. Ezequiel Navarro, Premo CEO, gave the example of internationalization. Group Premo inaugurated in June 2006 PREMO Mèditerranèe in the Tangier free zone (Morocco), where they manufacture automobile components destined to the North American market. The new plant has created 100 new jobs and it will hope to invoice four million euros in 2010.
PREMO has just announced a 2007 turnover of 34 million Euros, which is a 23 pc more than the same period last year, and PREMO Méditerranée represents 10 %. 2007 has been the seventh consecutive year of constant and supported growth.
